AI, Anointing and Algorithms

AI, Anointing and Algorithms

We’re in a time where artificial intelligence is reshaping industries, daily routines, and even spiritual engagement. But for the believer, the question isn’t just, What can AI do?—it’s How should I respond as someone led by the Holy Spirit?

This post is a challenge to stay grounded in the anointing while navigating the systems of the world—including algorithms, automations, and artificial intelligence.

What Is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to computer systems designed to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence. These include problem-solving, pattern recognition, learning, language processing, and decision-making.

Put simply:
AI uses data to predict, respond, and optimize tasks at scale.

It’s useful, yes—but it is not sovereign. It is fast, but it is not faithful.

What Is an Algorithm?

An algorithm is a set of rules or instructions given to an AI system or computer to help it process data and make decisions.

Think of it this way:
AI is the brain. Algorithms are the logic. And data is the fuel.

Together, they shape what we see, how we shop, how we work—and even how we think.

The Anointing Is Not a Thing

Let’s shift from technical to spiritual.

The anointing is often treated like a force or a feeling. But hear this:
The anointing is not a thing—it is a person. The Holy Spirit is the anointing. To depersonalize the anointing is to remove Him from the work—and that both grieves and dishonors the presence of God.

In the Old Testament, oil was poured on prophets, priests, and kings. But the olive oil itself had no power. It was God’s attachment to the process that made the oil sacred. The oil was a sign; the Spirit was the source.

So let’s make this clear:
The anointing cannot be manufactured by human will. It is God’s endorsement on what is being done in the Earth.

True power flows from intimacy. Not effort. Not intellect. Not ambition. If your strategy isn’t birthed in the secret place, it may succeed in visibility—but it will lack true spiritual authority.

There are some things that only the Anointing—the Spirit of God—can do:

Only the Anointing Can:

  • Give life (John 6:63)
  • Produce conviction (John 16:8)
  • Reveal Jesus (John 15:26)
  • Provide spiritual discernment (1 Corinthians 2:14)
  • Lead and guide into all truth (John 16:13)
  • Break spiritual bondages (Isaiah 10:27)
  • Soften a human heart (Ezekiel 36:26)

Let’s Talk Dominion: Subduing Systems

Genesis 1:28 (NKJV) says:
“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’”

That word subdue is rich with meaning:
Subdue (Hebrew: kāḇaš – כָּבַשׁ)
- To bring under authority
- To make subservient
- To dominate or tread down
- To keep in proper order

To subdue something means you don’t bow to it—you lead it.

Use Systems. Don’t Be Directed by Them.

The difference between using and being directed by a system is about who leads.

When you use a system, you stay in control. When you’re directed by a system, you follow its lead.

The Holy Spirit is our Leader. Everything else is just a tool.

Let’s be wise. Learn the tools. Understand the tech. Study the systems. But don’t let them lead your strategy.

Final Thought: Poor in Spirit. Powerful in Strategy.

Matthew 5:3 (NKJV):
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

To be poor in spirit is to stay dependent. It’s to acknowledge: I can’t use these systems effectively without divine guidance.

If we are going to subdue technology for Kingdom impact, we must remain sensitive to the Spirit of God—minute by minute, decision by decision. This is not about hype. It’s about holiness.

Let AI assist you, but don’t let it lead you. Let tools enhance your output, but not replace your obedience. Let strategy be Spirit-led, not algorithm-fed.

And above all—subdue the systems. Don't just operate in the world. Bring it under Kingdom authority.

That’s how anointed leaders shape culture instead of being shaped by it.

This is an awesome article. You explained AI so well, as many are integrating it into everyday usuage, it’s good to have this prophetic insight into exactly what it is. God bless you.
