The Power of The Blood of Jesus

By Hakim Taliaferro – Founder of Alpha Talk
What if the very thing you’re trying to earn has already been paid for? In our pursuit of growth, leadership, and clarity, we often run the risk of bypassing the blood. But for the entrepreneur, creative, and leader who truly wants to walk in power and peace, we must return to the finished work of Jesus—not as theory, but as lifeline.
You Don’t Need Discipline—You Need Jesus
Self-help can make you functional. Only Jesus can make you free. Righteousness is not achieved through routine, willpower, or vision boards—it’s only accessed through surrender. You don’t need to do something to make yourself feel better. You need to pursue Jesus. You don’t have the power to purify your soul. You need the One who bled for it. In every area of growth, the cross must remain our center. Not performance. Not perfection. Just Jesus.
What the Old System Couldn’t Do
Before Christ, the only way to be made “right” was through an ongoing, incomplete system of sacrifices. The blood of animals merely delayed judgment. But Jesus came as the once-and-for-all offering—no more bulls, no more priests, no more rituals. Just one Lamb who bore it all. His blood didn’t cover your sins temporarily. It erased them permanently. The former system was a shadow. Jesus is the substance.
Stop Taking the Blood for Granted
Many believers know the language of grace but live like everything depends on them. When we hustle for approval, build platforms from pride, or try to manufacture our own breakthroughs—we’re bypassing the blood. And that’s dangerous. Jesus didn’t just die to rescue us from sin. He died to rescue us from ourselves. Let us not diminish His sacrifice by making self-sufficiency a god.
Let this be a call back to reverence. A return to awe. A holy reminder that your access, your clarity, your identity—all of it flows from the blood.
Victory Sounds Like This
One artist who’s been stirring my spirit lately is Victory Boyd. Her voice, lyrics, and posture carry a weight that points straight to the throne. Here are a few songs that have ministered to me in this season:
- "Just Like In Heaven"
- "I Don’t Have to Pretend"
- "Broken Instrument"
These aren’t just tracks—they’re tools for reflection, repentance, and refreshing. Worship like this doesn’t hype you up. It humbles you down. It calls you to live crucified and fully alive in Christ.
Alpha Identity Insight
This teaching aligns with the Alpha Identity Index in the following ways:
- Identity Health – Reminds us that righteousness is received, not achieved. Our worth is in Christ’s blood, not our performance.
- Potential Impact – Re-centers our influence on spiritual posture, not popularity. Those who lead must bleed before God.
- Marketplace Value – Calls us to integrity and humility. We serve best when we operate from wholeness, not hustle.
- Revenue Readiness – Warns us against striving in our own strength. Stewardship must start with surrender.
